Troubleshooting the EVAP system
NOTE:
Troubleshooting a charcoal canister fuel cap is the same as troubleshooting a non-EVAP system.
Symptom
Cause
Fuel leaking from the
carburetor throat or
vents
A blockage in the charcoal
canister or between the
canister and the tank.
Engine starts, then
stalls

Roll over valve stuck
closed.

Plugged vent line or
charcoal canister.
•
Raw fuel in the char-
coal canister.
Engine runs rich

A blockage in the line
