ADJUSTMENT & CALABRATION PROCEDURES: cont.


Toe In / Out Adjustment:
a. Measure the center line of the front tire tread to the center line of the other front tire tread.

Measure to a point approx. 7-

1/2” from ground surface. Record dimension. See Fig. # 5.

b. Repeat procedure at the rear of the tires. Record dimension. See Fig. # 6.
c.

The dimension should be 1/8” to 1/4” less across the front than the rear. ( Toe In ).

d. To Adjust, Loosen the jam nuts ( use 2 wrenches) on the tie rod link arm.

Refer to Fig. # 4a & # 4c. Page 5.

e. Turn the center portion of the link to lengthen ( increase toe-in ) or shorten the link ( increase toe-out )
until the desired result is achieved. The factory setting is 28-

1/4” mounting bolt center to center.

f.

Verify toe-in adjustment measurement. Tighten jam nuts ( use 2 wrenches).

g.

Remove

the

5/16” pin thru the Steering Toggle alignment holes. See Fig. 2. Page 4.

WARNING:

Failure to remove the alignment pin will cause extensive damage to the steering linkage

arms requiring their replacement. Do Not attempt to move the steering wheel with the pin in place.


h. Be sure all hardware is tight and the alignment pin through the toggle is removed.
i.

Test drive to be sure steering performance is within specification.
