When the unit answers a call, the unit plays back your greeting message
and records the caller’s message.
oThe total recording time {including the greeting message) is
about
16 minutes.
If messages are recorded in noisy rooms, the time
may be shortened up to 5 minutes.
oA maximum of 64 messages can be recorded.
Setting the Unit to Answer Calls
Press fANSWER ON] to turn on the answering system.
oThe indicator lights and
“Answer set"
is
heard.
oThe unit will announce the remaining
recording time if it is less than 5 minutes.
o|f you hear
“Memory
full” and the
indicator flashes rapidly, erase some or
all of the messages (p. 36).
fANSWER ON

o|f you do not want the unit to answer calls, press (ANSWER ON) to turn
the answering system off. The indicator light goes out and
“Answer off’
is
heard.
oYou can also turn on the answering system remotely using any phone
(p. 45).
Monitoring incoming calls
While a call is being recorded, you can monitor it through the speaker.
To answer the call with the speakerphone, press (DIGITAL SP-PHON^ or
(REMOTE S^. For the handset, lift the handset off the base unit or press
(TALK 1. The unit stops recording.
