Copy or Restore the DMM Configuration
You can make a copy of the DMM configuration that can be restored to the same DMM or
copied, as a "gold DMM," to another DMM that will use the same configuration. Use FTP to
move the file between the target PC and the DMM. To back up the DMM configuration, follow
these steps:
1. On the target PC, start an FTP session and verify that folder CONFIG is on the PC.
2. From the target PC where you will store the configuration, type these commands:
bin
cd CONFIG
get ndmm.cfg
You can open the file in a text editor to modify parameters as needed, then save it with another
name. The new name must conform to the 8.3 format "ndmmxxxx.cfg" where xxxx can be up to
four alphanumeric characters; the name is not case-sensitive. Appendix B lists the parameters
with default values.
To restore the DMM configuration to the same DMM or a different DMM, follow these steps:
1. From the target PC where you store the configuration, type these commands:
bin
cd BURNING
put ndmmxxxx.cfg
2. To update the configuration to include changes made since the configuration was backed up
or to make changes needed to use the configuration on a different DMM, go to the specific
procedures in this manual.
