-- To reduce the risk of electric shock, serious

• Disconnect the electr ical plug from the wall outlet before cleaning, moving,
ser vicing or w hen not in use for an extended per iod of time.
• Do not use this product if it is wet, in water, around water or any liquid.
• To prevent suffocation keep plastic bags away from children.
• Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a
r isk of electr ic shock. Check with a qualified electr ician or ser viceman if you
are in doubt as to w hether the product is proper ly grounded. Do not modify
the plug provided with the product – if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper
outlet installed by a qualified electr ician.

shock or serious injur y:
• Always keep open flame and lit cigarettes away from upholstered fur niture.
Upholstered fur niture may bur n ra pidly with toxic gas and thick smoke.
• Closely super vise children and disa bled per sons using this product.
• Sit down in the unit slowly. To avoid tip over, do not throw your weight against
the back of the unit. Move the unit into or out of the reclining position slowly,
making sure that no children or pets are in close proximity.
• This product has many moving par ts , ser ious injur y can occur if not used
proper ly. Keep hands , finger s and body par ts away from the mechanism. To
reduce the r isk of head entra pment and other injur ies , keep children and
pets away from openings and moving par ts in and around fur niture.
• Only the occupant should operate the unit. Never attempt to open the
legrest by pulling on it.
• Do not stand, sit or place extra weight on the ar ms , back or open legrest.
• To safely exit the unit and prevent a tr ipping hazard br ing the back upr ight
and close the legrest.
• Do not use this product if it is damaged. Do not use attachments or substitute parts.
• This product is intended for indoor residential use only.
• Provide a clear path for operation of the back and legrest. Place ta bles and
area r ugs at a distance to allow the legrest to fully extend without r ubbing
or interference.
• Check the condition of the electr ical cord, plug and connector s regular ly.
Keep the electr ical cord away from heat sources . Never operate the unit with
a damaged electr ical cord, plug or connector. Contact your La-Z-Boy ® dealer
for ser vice.
• Do not use unit if power control is damaged or wet. Do not use unit if the
hand wand has been dropped in water or any liquid. Contact your La-Z-Boy ®
dealer for ser vice.
• This product is not intended for use as a health care device.

• Users of medical devices should contact their health care provider before using
this product. Do not use this product if you have poor circulation, are immobile
or cannot sense heat, except as directed by your health care provider.
• Do not use this product w here aerosol (spray) products are being used or
w here oxygen is being administered.
• Do not operate the unit until the back is installed and locked.
• Before moving the product, disconnect the electr ical plug from the wall outlet
and secure the mechanism to prevent unexpected opening or movement.
Never move the product by the mechanism, legrest, handle, reclining back or
swivel base.
• This unit is equipped with a tension adjustment feature for the reclining
mechanism that is preset at the factor y. The tension setting can be changed
for your per sonal preference. To avoid tip over and insure sta bility, do not
operate the unit with the tension adjustment wing nuts completely loosened
(see Reclining Tension Adjustment Instr uctions).
• Do not attempt to disassemble or ser vice the pump or motor. No ser vicea ble
par ts are inside. Contact your La-Z-Boy ® dealer for ser vice infor mation.
• Do not allow electrical cord to be pinched between moving parts or between the
frame and the floor.
• Plug directly into a wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord.
• The 1CT Comfor tTouch™ chair is intended for a single occupant, not exceeding
250 pounds . Do not operate the chair with more than one occupant in or on
any par t of the chair.
• Connect this fur nishing to a proper ly grounded outlet only (see Ta ble of
Contents , Grounding Instr uctions).
• This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown,
grounding provides a path of least resistance for electr ical current to reduce
the r isk of electr ic shock. This product is equipped with a cord having an
equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be
plugged into an a ppropr iate outlet that is proper ly installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances .
• This product is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding plug
that looks like the plug illustrated in the Grounding Instr uctions (see Ta ble of
Contents , Grounding Instr uctions). Make sure that the product is connected
to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No ada pter should
be used with this product.
-- To reduce the risk of product damage:
• Damage will occur to the mechanism if the legrest is forced closed from
the 1st or 2nd position. The legrest must be extended to the 3rd position
and then closed.
