If two sheets or no sheets are fed, adjust the gap between the separation roller
and feeding roller, as follows:
• If two document sheets are fed in at once, the gap between the separation
roller and feeding roller is too wide. Turn the paper thickness adjustment
dial clockwise in the range from 45º to 90º to narrow the gap between the
separation roller and feeding roller. Then repeat steps 3 to 5 and check that
feeding performs correctly.
• If no document is fed at all, the gap between the separation roller and
feeding roller is too narrow. Turn the paper adjustment dial counter
clockwise to widen the gap between the separation roller and feeding roller
until two document pages are fed at once. Then repeat steps 3 to 5 and
check that feeding performs correctly.

When you have finished adjusting the separation roller gap, exit the scanning
utility.
