Replacing the Palm Rest
WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information
that shipped with your computer and follow the steps in "Before You Begin" on
page 7. After working inside your computer, follow the instructions in "After
Working Inside Your Computer" on page 9. For additional safety best

Procedure
1 Align the screw holes on the palm rest with the screw holes on the computer base.
2 Press down on the palm rest to snap it into place.
3 Slide the touchpad cable and the power-button cable into the connectors on the
system board and press down on the connector latches to secure the cables.
4 Replace the screws that secure the palm rest to the system board.
5 Close the display and turn the computer over.
6 Replace the screws that secure the palm rest to the computer base.

1 Replace the keyboard. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on page 23.
2 Follow step 4 to step 5 in "Replacing the Optical-Drive Assembly" on page 17.
3 Follow step 3 and step 4 in "Replacing the Memory Module(s)" on page 14.
4 Replace the battery. See "Replacing the Battery" on page 11.
