Ground Drive Fertilizer Rate
One or two JohnBlue ground drive pumps customarily
supply a Type 2 boom on the planter.
JohnBlue Pump Rate
Refer to Figure 21 and Figure 22
One piston pump
generally suffices for “starter”
application rates. Two piston pumps may be required for
higher rates.
Coarse rate is set by a single “driving” sprocket
on the
ground drive assembly. Fine rate is set on a dial (setting
hub)
at the pump, using a tool supplied with the pump.
Rate settings may be established in any of three ways:
• the table on the next page,
• the slide chart provided with the pump, or;
• a calculator on the JohnBlue internet web site

Re-tighten pointer nut.
Material Loss/Equipment Damage Risks:
Operate only with material loaded, or disconnect chain or
remove sprocket if not intending to apply material. Contact
wheel and chain system operate whenever the planter is
lowered and in motion. If planting without fertilizing, the pump
must not be allowed to run dry.
