RE AGENT STA BIL ITY AND RE PLACE MENT
Every conceivable effort is taken to ensure long shelf-life for the test
reagents. However, typical use of a field test kit keeps it exposed to
adverse conditions. Storage of wet apparatus maintains high humidity,
which is particularly harmful. Also, temperature extremes are common.
Therefore, field test kit chemicals must be checked or replaced
frequently.
For better results from the field test kit, we recommend that minimum
quantities of reagents be kept in the kit. Fresh reagents will improve the
test results. Larger quantities for replacement should be stored in a
clean, cool, dry area. Replacement of reagents in the test kit every 6
months is recommended. The test kit should be thoroughly cleaned and
dried whenever the reagents are replaced.
To order individual reagents or test kit components, use the specified
code number.
CLEAN LI NESS
All possible efforts must be made to keep the test kit clean and dry. It
should present the appearance of belonging to a careful person, while
still showing proper use. Labels must be legible. Of course,
contamination of test reagents must be avoided. Do not touch the
dropper bottle tips to anything (mixing bottle, test tube, or their
contents). If contamination is suspected, replace the reagent. Always
cover the test tube with a stopper for mixing rather than using a finger.

Analyses are best run if the following sequence is used. Naturally, a fresh
portion of the water sample is used for each analysis. Omit any analyses
not desired.
