It may be necessary to run a reagent blank through this procedure to determine if
there are any interferences present. This is accomplished by following the procedure
below, using 10 mL of distilled water instead of the sample water . If the amount
of color which develops in the reagent blank is greater than the zero value in the
comparator, this value should be subtracted from the test result to determine the actual
concentration of formaldehyde in the sample.
USE OF THE OCTA-SLIDE 2 VIEWER
The Octa-Slide 2 Viewer should be held so
non-direct light enters through the back of
the Viewer. Insert the reacted sample into
the top of the Viewer. Slide the Octa-Slide 2
Bar into the Viewer and match the color of
the reaction to the color standards.
