Sleeved WaterPEX
®
Tubing
Sleeved WaterPEX tubing is a factory pre-assembled coil of
WaterPEX cross-linked polyethylene tubing encased in black,
SIDR 15 controlled HDPE conduit. The conduit serves as a
protective barrier for the WaterPEX tubing against abrasion for
burial and slab applications where an extra level of integrity is
required by local and/or state building codes. The conduit is not
designed to be pressurized or used for fluid conveyance. The
Sleeved WaterPEX tubing features Lead Free* construction to
comply with Lead Free* installation requirements.
Temperature-Pressure (WaterPEX)
Maximun Working Pressure:
160psi (11 bar) @ 73.4°F (23°C)
100psi (6.9 bar) @ 180°F (80°C)
80psi (5.5 bar) @ 200°F (93°C)
Specifications
System shall be plumbed using Watts Sleeved WaterPEX
cross-linked polyethylene pipe, factory sleeved using black,
SIDR15 HDPE conduit for all buried and/or slab applications.
All WaterPEX joints shall be made using Watts Lead-Free brass
CrimpRing and/or Poly-Alloy CrimpRing fittings using either the
Watts copper CrimpRing or stainless steel CinchClamp crimp-
ing methods as outlined in the Watts WaterPEX Installation
manual and guidelines.
NOTICE
Installation Guidelines
WaterPEX must be installed in accordance with all Watts Wa-
terPEX installation procedures, including information provided in
WaterPEX Installation manual and guidelines.
The HDPE conduit is not designed to be pressurized or to
convey fluid and is solely intended as a protective barrier for
the WaterPEX pipe against abrasion in buried and slab applica-
tions. When using in a buried or slab application, a minimum
of 3 inches of the conduit should protrude beyond the entry/
exit point of the burial backfill or slab. The ends of the conduit
may be sealed using electrical or duct tape to prevent ambient
debris or moisture from entering the conduit.
