4 Installation
4.1 About this chapter
The Installation chapter contains
￭ this overview
￭ a brief set of instructions for the installation of the 872 Extension Mod-
ule IC Pump (see Chapter 4.2, page 21). At each step you will find
cross-references to detailed installation instructions for individual com-
ponents, should you require such aids.
￭ two installation diagrams (see Chapter 4.3, page 22), which show
two possible applications of the instrument.
￭ several chapters with detailed installation instructions for all compo-
nents, including those that are already installed at the time the instru-
ment is delivered.
4.2 Installation overview
Note
A number of the capillary connections are already connected at the
time the instrument is delivered.
The following work steps must still be carried out:

1 Installing the eluent path
￭ Equip the eluent aspiration tubing (12-1)/(13-1) and connect with
the eluent bottle (see Chapter 4.4, page 24).
￭ Connect the eluent degasser input (see Chapter 4.5, page 28).
￭ Shorten the 6.1831.100 connection capillary (12-2)/(13-2) to the
required length using the 6.2621.080 capillary cutter and connect
it to the pulsation damper with a 6.2744.070 pressure screw
(12-3)/(13-3) (see Chapter 4.8, page 35).
