How often should I
clean the filter?
Maintenance
Depending on conditions, generally 5,000 miles or 3
months. Keep in mind that a dirty filter robs fuel econ-
omy and performance. A good rule of thumb is to clean
the filter every time you change your oil.
Can I purchase a
second filter?
Maintenance
Yes, the part number for the replacement filter is
224895. Many customers purchase the second filter
and install it and then clean the filter that was in
the system thereby they always have a clean filter
standing by.
Why use a pre-filter? Maintenance
The Pre-filter makes it much easier to clean the filter,
keeping bugs and other debris out of the ribs of the
filter. It is designed to flow more than the air filter,
so it will not change the performance of the RFI
system. Part Number for Pre-filter is 225100.
How long is required
to let the filter dry
after oiling the filter?
Maintenance
Generally 20 minutes should be sufficient. It’s very
important that the filter not be installed back on the
vehicle if it isn’t completely dry.
