REMOVAL OF STOCk EXHAUST SySTEM
1. Use a sawzall to cut the exhaust immediately
behind the muffler.
2. Use a sawzall to cut the exhaust immediately
behind the Catalytic Converter.
3. Unbolt the exhaust system starting at the sec-
ond piece of the down-pipe. You will need a
7/16” deep socket in order to remove it.
3. To make removing the Hangers an easier process,
it is recommended that you use a
silicone spray lubricant to spray
each of the rubber hangers hold-
ing the stock exhaust.
4. Remove each piece of the stock exhaust system,
including the stock exhaust hangers.
Cut Exhaust after muffler
Cut Exhaust after catalytic converter
Unbolt down pipe
Remove all the necessary exhaust hangers
WaRNiNG: The 6.6L Duramax is equipped with a
two piece down pipe. Do not cut or remove the upper
section.
iMpoRTaNT: it is illegal in all 50 states and Canada
to remove the catalytic converter. LB7 vehicles are not
generally equipped with a catalytic converter.
Band Clamp
in these steps you will remove the stock exhaust system.
