Insert a ‘pause’ in a stored number

Some internal switchboards may require you to enter an
access code (e.g. 9) to get an outside line. So that the
switchboard has time to pick up an outside line before
the rest of the number is dialled, you may need to add a
pause in the dialling sequence. For example:

9

P

0870 605 8047

1. When storing a number, at the point you want to insert

a pause, press and hold

until

P

is displayed.

You can enter as many pauses as required.

You may also need to insert a
pause when storing international
dialling codes, charge card numbers
and with other tele-banking facilities.

For more information on use with
a switchboard, see page 43.
