When necessary, select a hand cup to match the others found on the vacuum lifter, and attach
the hand cup to the adjustable center arm as directed in the preceding section.
WARNING: Installing center arm does NOT increase load capacity of lifter.
Before applying the lifter to a load, install or remove the adjustable center arm as needed to
support the load’s dimensions: To support the maximum load dimensions, the center arm must
be installed on the lifter. To support smaller dimensions, the center arm may be removed,
provided that load overhang can be minimized sufficiently (see INTENDED USE: L

HARACTERISTICS
to follow).
To Install the Center Arm
1) Remove the cotterless hitch pins from the mount at the end of
the adjustable center arm, by pulling on the pull rings.
2) Slide the cross beam of the lifter into the mount's opening, so
that the holes align for the cotterless hitch pins and the vacuum
pad of the hand cup faces in the correct direction.
3) Secure the center arm on the lifter by pushing the cotterless hitch
pins through the holes until the retaining balls emerge on the far side of the arm mount.
WARNING: Both pins must be used to connect center arm to lifter.
To Remove the Center Arm
1) Remove the cotterless hitch pins from the mount at the end of the adjustable center arm, by
pulling on the pull rings.
2) Remove the center arm from the lifter, and reinsert the cotterless hitch pins in the center arm
for safe-keeping. Store the removed center arm in a clean, dry location to protect it from
environmental exposure.
