The Crossfire Crossbow reticle will still be effective with
other velocities and bolt weights. Use the same 20 yard sight-
in distance for the main crosshair. You will find that the sub-
crosshair lines will be accurate for distances other than 30,
40 and 50 yards. Spending a day at the target range will allow
you to determine which distances are appropriate for your
particular crossbow setup.
Examples
Velocity faster than 300 fps
Yardages will be slightly greater than 30, 40 and 50 yards.
Velocity slower than 300 fps
Yardages will be slightly less than 30, 40 and 50 yards.
Bolt lighter than 400 gr.
Yardages will be slightly greater than 30, 40 and 50 yards.
Bolt heavier than 400 gr.
Yardages will be slightly less than 30, 40 and 50 yards.
Maintenance
The Vortex 3x32 Crossbow scope requires very little routine
maintenance other than periodically cleaning the exterior lenses.
Cleaning
• Blow away any dust or grit on lens prior to wiping the surface.
• Using your breath, or a very small amount of water or pure
alcohol, can help remove stubborn things like dried water spots.
All components are permanently lubricated, so no additional
lubricant should be applied. Disassembling of scope may void warranty.
Lubrication
Be sure to use products that are specifically designed for use on
coated optical lenses, like the Vortex Lens Pen or lens tissues.
Clean the exterior of the scope by wiping with a soft, dry cloth.
If possible, avoid storing the Crossfire Crossbow in direct
sunlight or any very hot location for long periods of time. High
temperatures can adversely affect the internal lubricants.
