Notice of Additional Requirements for California Motorcycles
S&S® Crankcase for Twin Cam 88® Engines are legal for sale and use in the State of California on stock Harley-Davidson® motorcycles orginally
equipped with a non-counterbalanced Twin Cam 88 Engine. This includes all 1999–2006 touring and all 1999–2005 Dyna models.
When installing S&S® Crankcases for Twin Cam 88 Engines the following conditions must be met in order for your motorcycle to remain complaint
with California’s emission regulations.
• Crankcases are properly installed according to the provided installation instructions.
• No tuning or other performance adjustments may be made to the engine.
• Product identifi cation label shown below must be properly installed.
Installing Product Identifi cation Label:
Included with each S&S Crankcase for Twin Cam 88 Engines is a product identifi cation label (see image below). This label must be attached
permanently to the motorcycle in a visible location. S&S recommends placing the label either on the crankcase or on the frame near the
manufacturer’s labels.
Use the following steps to install the label:
1. Thoroughly clean and dry the area to which label will be applied.
2. Remove paper backing from label.
3. Carefully place label in desired position and press sticker onto surface.
4. Smooth any wrinkles or air bubbles by gently pressing them outward from center of label past the edge.
