DISASSEMBLY

1- Remove the shift shaft and shift forks from the cassette assembly.
2- Now the 5-6 shift collar is removed by sliding it off.
3- There are two methods for removal of the shafts from the trap door. One is to support the trap door in a press and push the shafts out

together—this is the preferred method. Alternately, support the door and slowly and evenly tap the shafts out with a soft-faced hammer. See
Pictures 5 and 6.
