1. Connect the remote current control cable.
a) Connect the DCPD remote current control cable to the white connection labeled Remote on the
back of the DCPD Measurement System.
b) Connect the other end of the DCPD Remote Current Control cable to the connection labeled D/A
Output on the back of the controller.
c) Set the Remote/Local switch to Remote.
Note:
For non-494 controllers, please contact MTS Technical Support. If a remote connection is not
being used, connect the Control DCPD jumper plug to the white port labeled Remote on the
back of the DCPD Measurement System. If the jumper plug is connected, set the Remote/Local
switch to Local.
2. Connect the Control cable.
a) Connect the DCPD Control cable to the blue connection labeled Control on the back of the DCPD
Measurement System.
b) Connect the other end of the DCPD Control cable to the connection labeled Digital Output on the
back of the controller. On a FlexTest 40 controller, this connection is labeled J55.
3. Connect the E-Stop cable.

For non-494 controllers, please contact MTS Technical Support.
a) Connect the E-Stop cable to the red connection labeled E-Stop on the back of the DCPD
Measurement System.
b) Connect the other end of the E-Stop cable to the E-Stop connection on the back of the controller.
On a FlexTest 40 controller, this connection is labeled J23.
4. Connect the ground cable.
a) Connect the ground cable to the signal ground on the back of the DCPD Measurement System.
b) Connect the other end of the ground cable to the signal ground on the back of the controller.
5. Connect Channel 1.
a) Connect the orange cable to the orange Channel 1 connection on the back of the DCPD Measurement
System.
b) Attach the other end to the Channel 1 DUC on the back of the controller. On a FlexTest 40 Controller,
this connection is labeled J1A.

The reference specimen and active specimen should be made of the same material and in the same
environment during the test. It is not necessary they have the identical geometry, but they should be similar.
