7.2.1 Excessively high water level in the drain pan
Caution!
As long as the level sensor is covered with water, the water
flow cuvettes' (7-12) water valves are closed. The cleaning pro-
cess in the water flow cuvettes is interrupted. No fresh water
flows into the water flow cuvettes.

Supplement ST5020 V1.3, RevD - 2/2013
Whenever the water level in the drain pan reaches the level sensor (
Fig. 2
, 1), an alarm mes-
sage is triggered and the water inflow into the water flow cuvettes (7-12) is stopped for safety
reasons. The water inflow is automatically turned on again whenever the water level no longer
covers the level sensor.
Sources of errors:
1. The water drain or the drain tube is blocked or clogged. The water
level in the drain pan has reached the level sensor; the water does
not drain.
2. The water drain or the drain tube is partially clogged or blocked. The
water level in the drain pan has reached the level sensor; the water
drains only slowly. The level sensor is dirty.
Troubleshooting
1. Read the error message, acknowledge the alarm and, immediately
afterward, press the "PAUSE" knob. The transport arm moves into a
secure position. The instrument is now in pause mode and the instru-
ment cover can be opened.
Subsequently, remove cuvettes 1 and 13 (
see label in Fig. 1
). Inspect
the water drain for clogs and the level sensor for dirt.
