3.2 Registering Readiris™ Pro 12
You are recommended to register your copy of Readiris™ Pro 12. Registering is required to
get Technical Support. Registering also offers other benefits such as product updates and
discounts on future products.
• On the Help menu, click Register Readiris to be directed to the Registration web
page.
• Fill in your data and click Submit.
3.3 Processing Documents in Readiris™ Pro 12
In this section we cover the basic processing steps in Readiris™ Pro 12. Follow these steps
in order to scan documents, recognize them and save in the format or application of your
choice (RTF, PDF, etc.)
Please consult the User Guide for a complete overview of the output formats and
applications.
1. If necessary, select the configuration options
To rotate pages
Click Options > Detect Page Orientation.
To straighten pages
Click Options > Page Deskewing.
Note: leave the default option Page Analysis
activated. This option divides your documents
automatically into recognition zones. Readiris™ Pro
12 uses the zones to recognize your documents.
2. Scan your documents
• Place a document face-down in the scanner.
• Press the scanner button you configured to
scan to Readiris™ Pro 12.
Important note: notice that the Scan
button in Readiris is unavailable. You need
to use the buttons on the scanner.
• If you used the scanner buttons to scan
documents to your computer, use the Open
button to browse for them.
3. Choose the document language
• Click the globe icon.
• Select the language of your document.
