•
These HD ball joints carry a 12 month unlimited warranty available to the original purchaser from the date of purchase and are non transferable.
1.
Remove the boots prior to installation to prevent damage. Do not forget to reinstall them prior to reinstalling the knuckles.
2.
Install the ball joints using the factory service manual as a guide. It is a good idea to coat the knurl of the ball joint housing with some antiseize for easier
installation and removal down the line.
3.
Orient the lower ball joint so the grease fitting is pointing forward when installed on vehicle.
4.
With ball joints installed in control arms, put the dust boots back on and reinstall knuckle onto the arms.
5.
Begin by tightening lower ball joint nut to 35 ft-lbs. Put a dab of antiseize on the threads prior to installing the nut. Do not install the cotter pin at this time
6.
Next tighten the upper ball joint nut to 37 ft-lbs. Install the cotter pin. Again, use some antiseize on the threads before installing the nut.
7.
Torque the bottom ball joint nut to 74-ft-lbs. Install the cotter pin.
8.
DO NOT loosen to align cotter pin holes, always tighten to next key hole.
9.
Wait until the ball joints are installed to install the grease zerk fittings.
10. Recheck caster & camber on vehicle after new ball joints have been installed as worn ball joints could result in an increase in actual caster & camber due to
excessive play.
11. Grease ball joints at every oil change.
