Recording from the CD player
(CD SYNCHRO)
1 Press SELECT SOURCE repeatedly to display
CD.
2 Insert a CD and, if desired, program track numbers.
3 Press PUSH to open the cassette compartment.
4 Insert a blank, unprotected cassette and close the
cassette compartment.
• You can choose the cassette side(s)
A, B or A+B by
pressing REVERSE MODE. When selecting
A+B the
cassette sides are switched automatically at the end of
the tape. CD playback is paused during the side switch.
5 Press CD SYNCHRO RECORD on the unit.
➞ Recording starts. CD play starts 7 seconds later, to let
the leader tape pass the recorder heads.
Note: If the first track to be recorded is chosen by
∞ or
§, CD playback and tape recording start
simultaneously.
6 Press
9 (STOP 9 on the remote control) to stop
recording.
Note: If RECORD is pressed during CD playback, recording
starts immediately (use
2; to pause CD playback).
Record Timer
You may record from the radio at a set time. You have to
define a preset radio station to record from, a start time
and a stop time. You can choose the cassette side(s)
A, B
or
A+B by pressing REVERSE MODE.
1 Select the preset radio station to record from.
2 Switch to standby.
3 Keep CLOCK/TIMER on the unit pressed for more than
2 seconds.

TIMER
flashes and the actual source is displayed.
4 Press SELECT SOURCE repeatedly to display
REC TUN.
5 Press CLOCK/TIMER on the unit to confirm the source.
➞
ON is displayed,
RECORD
and the clock digits flash.
6 Press
5 TUNING 6 on the unit to set the desired hour
and
4 PRESET 3 to set the desired minute.
7 Press CLOCK/TIMER on the unit to confirm the start time.
➞
OFF is displayed,
RECORD
and the clock digits flash.
8 Press
5 TUNING 6 on the unit to set the desired hour
and
4 PRESET 3 to set the desired minute.
9 Press CLOCK/TIMER on the unit to confirm the settings.
➞
TIMER
is shown and the recording timer is set.
Tape deck maintenance
To ensure proper recording and playback quality, clean
parts A, B and C after approx. 50 hours of operation.
Use a cotton swab slightly moistened with alcohol or
head-cleaner fluid.
Press
2; and clean the rubber pressure rollers A. Press
2; again and clean the capstans B and the heads C.
Note: The heads C can also be cleaned by playing a
cleaning tape once.
