Generator AC Connection System
Asingle-phase,three-wireACconnectionsystemisusedin
thehomegenerator.Thestatorassemblyconsistsofapair
ofstationarywindingswithtwoleadsbroughtoutofeach
winding.Thejunctionofleadsand33formstheneutral
lead,asshownschematicallyandaswiringdiagrambelow.A
completeschematicandwiringdiagramcanbefoundinthe
separateillustratedpartslistmanual.
NOTE:Neutralisnotbondedtogroundatgenerator.
Grounding the Generator
Groundthehomegeneratorperapplicablecodes,standards,
andregulations.ThegeneratorGNDlugislocatedinsidethe
controlpaneldoorunderthecircuitbreakercover.
Utility Circuit Connection
“40VUtility”leadsmustberoutedinconduit.The
“40VUtility”leadsdeliverpowertothegenerator’scircuit
board,optionalbatterywarmerandoptionaloilwarmer.This
poweralsochargesthebattery.Whenpowerontheseleads
islost,thegeneratorwillstart.
Usingprovidedpoleconnectorplugandinstaller-supplied
minimum300V,14AWGcopperwire,connecteachcontrol
circuitterminalinthegeneratortothetwo-ampfuse
terminalsintheautomatictransferswitch.
Transfer Switch Communication
Using#18AWGtwistedpairconductors,nogreaterthan
00ftinlength,connectTxRxandTxRxGroundfromthe
generatorcontrolpaneltotheGNDandT/Ronthetransfer
switchcontrolboard.
Fault Detection System
Thegeneratormayhavetorunforlongperiodsoftimewith
nooperatorpresent.Forthatreason,thesystemisequipped
withsensorsthatautomaticallyshutdownthegenerator
intheeventofpotentiallydamagingconditions,suchas
lowoilpressure,hightemperature,overspeed,andother
conditions.RefertoFault Detection SysteminMaintenance
formoredetailedinformation.
TheownerwillusetheremoteLEDindicatortoobservethe
statusofthehomegeneratorsystem.Consultwiththeowner
foraconvenientlocation.Locatetheelectricalboxinan
areavisiblebythehomeownersuchasnearagaragedoor
openerorsecuritycontrolpanel.
To install the remote LED indicator:
1. PushtheLEDthroughthemountingplatefromthe
frontuntilitsnapsinplace.
IMPORTANT:TheLEDispolaritysensitive.
. Usingprovided10poleconnectorandinstaller-supplied
minimum18AWGwire,connecttheremoteLEDtothe
generatorcontrolboard+LEDandGNDconnection.
UsewirenutstoattachwiretoLEDleads.
3. Attachmountingplatetoinstaller-suppliedelectricalbox.
