Explore what’s out there and how to get there.
Switch location services on
Find out where you are using Maps, and save your location to the photos you take – let apps use your
location info to offer you a wider variety of services.
1. Swipe left, and tap Settings.
2. Tap location, and switch Location services to On
.
Bing Maps
Bing Maps shows you where you are and what is nearby, and guides you where you want to go.
You can:
• Find cities, streets, and places of interest
• Mark, save, and share your favorite places
• Find your way with turn-by-turn directions
Using services or downloading content may cause transfer of large amounts of data, which may result
in data traffic costs.
Some features of Bing Maps may not be available in your country or region, and may be provided only
in selected languages.
Map coverage varies by country and region.
See where you are on a map
See your current location on the map, browse maps of different cities and countries, and use the
aerial view for a more realistic view of the map.
On the start screen, swipe left, and tap Maps.
The compass has limited accuracy. Electromagnetic fields, metal objects, or other external
circumstances may also affect the accuracy of the compass. The compass should always be properly
calibrated.
Tap .
If accurate positioning is not possible, a gray halo around the positioning icon shows the general area
you might be in. In densely populated areas, the estimate accuracy is better, and the halo is not as
wide.
Browse the map
Drag the map with your finger.
Zoom in or out
Place two fingers on the map, and slide your fingers apart to zoom in or together to zoom out.
Use the satellite map view
Tap
> aerial view on.
