11 Manage phone security
Your phone is equipped with different security features that allow you to
do the following:
• Avoid making accidental calls
• Prevent unauthorized use of your phone
• Restrict outgoing or incoming calls
• LOCK THE KEYPAD (KEYGUARD)
The keypad lock (Keyguard) disables your keypad
to prevent accidental key presses (for example,
when your phone is in a purse).
Note: When Keyguard is on, calls may be possible to emergency
numbers (for example, 911 or other official emergency number).
However, one-key emergency dialing does not operate. Key in the
emergency number and press
. The number is displayed only
after you have keyed in its last digit.
Manual Keyguard
• To lock the keys, press Menu , then .
• To unlock the keys, press Unlock , then .
If the phone rings with Keyguard on, press to answer the call.
