Step 3 - Confi gure your Computer’s IP Address
If your PC doesn’t automatically receive an IP address: IfIf
For Windows 98SE/ME:
• Right-click on Network Neighborhood or Network Neighborhood Network Neighborhood My Network Places and select My Network Places My Network Places
Properties.
• Select the Confi guration tab, scroll down to TCP/IP and press Properties.
• Select Obtain IP address automatically and Obtain DNS Server address
automatically.
• Click OK to close Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties. OK OK
• Click OK to close Network Connection Properties. OK OK
• Close Network Connections window.
For Windows 2000/XP: FF
• Click Start => Start Start Settings => Settings Settings Control Panel.
• Double click on the Network Connections icon. Network Connections Network Connections
• Right-click on Local Area Network Connection and select Properties.
NOTE: If you’re using a wireless connection, right-click on its icon and select
Properties.
• Scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP ) and press Properties.
• Select Obtain IP address automatically and Obtain DNS Server address
automatically if they’re not already selected. automatically automatically
• Click OK to close Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties. OK OK
• Close Network Connections and Control Panel windows.
