1.13 Control panel
The control panel consists of the touch panel, which can be used to specify settings for the various functions,
and various keys, such as the [Start] key and the [Stop] key. The operations that can be performed with these
keys are described below.
In this manual, [ ] indicates keys on the control panel and buttons in the touch panel.

1 Touch panel Various screens and messages are displayed. You can config-
ure various settings by directly pressing the Touch Panel.
2 [Power Save] key Press to enter Sleep Mode. While the machine is in Sleep
Mode, the indicator on the [Power Save] key lights up in green
and the touch panel goes off. To cancel Sleep Mode, press the
[Power Save] key again.
3 [Fax] key Enters Fax mode. While the machine is in Fax mode, the indi-
cator on the [Fax] key lights up in green.
Allows you to use this function if the FAX Kit FK-509 is installed
and the fax function is available.
4 [E-mail] key Enters Scan to E-mail mode. While the machine is in Scan to E-
mail mode, the indicator on the [E-mail] key lights up in green.
5 [Folder] key Enters Scan to Folder mode. While the machine is in Scan to
Folder mode, the indicator on the [Folder] key lights up in green.
6 [Copy] key Press this key to enter Copy mode. While the machine is in
Copy mode, the indicator on the [Copy] key lights up in green.
7 [Reset] key Press this key to reset settings (except programmed settings)
entered using the Control Panel and Touch Panel.
8 [Interrupt] key Press this key to enter Interrupt mode. While the machine is in
Interrupt mode, the indicator on the [Interrupt] key lights up in
green. To cancel Interrupt mode, press the [Interrupt] key again.
9 [Stop] key Pressing this key while copying, scanning or printing temporar-
ily stops the operation.
10 [Start] key Press to start the copy, scan or fax operation.
11 Keypad Allows you to specify the number of copies. Allows you to enter
the magnification. Allows you to enter various settings.
12 [C] (clear) key Clears a value (such as the number of copies, a zoom ratio and
size) entered using the Keypad.
13 Error Indicator Flashes in orange if an error occurred. Lights up in orange when
the service representative is being called.
