Chapter 5 Configuring Advanced Settings
The “
WAN IP
Address” screen appears.
WAN IP
Address allows manual set up of the
IP
address of the Gateway. To do this:

to establish communica-
tion with an end user. Other types of broadband Internet con-
nections (such as fixed point wireless) may use either
DHCP
or
static
IP
address. If unsure which connection is present, check
with Verizon before continuing.
1. Select “
DHCP
” or “
PPP
o
E
,” depending on the type of connection the
ISP
uses.
If
PPP
Auto Connect is being used, click in the appropriate check box.
2. If using
PPPoE
was selected in step 1, enter the user name and password in the
appropriate text boxes.
3. Select the
IP
type. If single static
IP
was selected, enter the
IP
address in the
“Single Static IP” text .
4. Select the
DNS
type. If static
DNS
address was selected, enter the primary
DNS
address and, optionally, the secondary
DNS
address in the appropriate text
boxes.
