4 Connecting the 673T, 673R
Always switch off the power to each device before connecting it to
your 673T, 673R. After connecting your 673T, 673R, connect its
power and then switch on the power to each device.
Warning: Avoid direct eye exposure into the optic connectors when powered,
although this product is regulated strictly enough to operate under
the Laser Class 3R for eye safety.
To connect the 673T and 673R, as illustrated in the example in Figure 3 , do the
following:
1. Connect up to four SDI sources (for example video players and/or HD-SDI
cameras) to the four SDI IN connectors.
You do not have to connect all the inputs and outputs.
2. Connect the four SDI OUT connectors to up to four SDI acceptors (for
example, HD-SDI displays).
3. Remove the dust caps and connect the OPTIC CABLE connector of the
673T to the OPTIC CABLE connector of the 673R, via OM3 cabling with SC
connectors (maximum range of 900 meters (2950ft)).
4. Connect the 5V DC power adapter to the power socket on each unit and
connect the adapter to the mains electricity (not shown in Figure 3 ).
