 One (1) Quick-Start Guide (this document)

OVERVIEW:
The EasyTalk Wireless Audio Receiver and the Belt Pack Transmitter used with the AutoTrak 2.0 and the EasyTalk
Wireless Lav has an Optional Antenna Extension Kit available. The Extension Kit improves both the transmitter gain
and receiver strength by replacing the ¼-wave original antennas with the optional ½-wave antennas. For most
applications, the ¼-wave antennas work fine, but in areas with 2.4 GHz interference and a rack packed full of
equipment, sometimes higher gain antennas are required. These new antennas provide an additional 6db of gain
when added to the system. The antennas maximize performance of the EasyTalk Wireless Audio Systems and attach
using a standard Part 15 compliant RP-SMA connector. Overall, the 1/2-wave, 2.4GHz antennas deliver outstanding
performance in rugged and totally attractive packages.

GENERAL APPLICATION:
If transmit and receive levels are low or are subjected to environmental interference, the Antenna Extension Kit and a
simple repositioning of the receiver may improve system transmission and reception. If the EasyTalk Receiver is rack
mounted, please relocate receiver near the top, or on top of the rack enclosure. Please position the receiver away from
other high emission equipment (monitors, multiple rack mount monitors, codecs, other wireless systems, etc...).

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Remove the original ¼-wave antennas that came with the receiver and belt pack and retain for future use.
2) Attach the ½-Wave Desktop Base Antenna to the RP-SMA connector on the front panel of the wireless receiver and

place the base antenna on top of the rack enclosure.

3) Attach the ½-Wave whip antenna to the Belt Pack used with the AutoTrak 2.0 Lanyard Mic or the EasyTalk

Wireless Lavalier Mic system.

4) Test the system accordingly for gain and extraneous interference in the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz band.
Note: An in-room installation or line of sight (avoiding concrete walls) is highly recommended for best performance.

INTENDED USE:
These products were designed, built and tested for use indoors and to support the aforementioned products in the
document only. Using these devices for any other product could may not work properly or create potentially unsafe
headache condition.
