Factory Tailgate Removal
Open tailgate, remove cable at bed attachment
point. Lay back tailgate 30-45 degrees until notch
in passenger side tailgate hinge is parallel with the
mounting pin. Pull up on tailgate parallel to
mounting pin on passenger side. With Passenger
side loose pull sideways to disengage driver side
mounting pin.
Cable Removal
Remove both cables from factory tailgate by
removing 13mm bolt from tailgate. To remove
bolt, flat retaining washer under the latch body
must be held to keep from spinning.
