7 Tailgate Assist Installation
Remove cable from cable bolt then remove cable
bolt using 13mm socket or wrench. Tailgate
assist is installed on the driver side only.

Install (J) Washer with flat portion facing the
front of the truck and (H) Cable/Ball Mount in the
position of the previously removed cable bolt.
Tighten using 11mm socket or wrench.
Using a pair of pliers, remove the retaining clip
from the cable end. It may be necessary to cut
the plastic around it. Install the cable on the
mount after the clip is removed.

Insert (I) Grommet into the hole on the cable
