OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

For all Handi-Mate Models:

1. Place motor in neutral.

2. Loosen knob and push handle head over throttle grip.

3. Tighten knob to secure head to grip. Be sure to leave room

for thumb access to kill button. Do not over tighten.

4. Should excessive torque be required to operate throttle,

have your marine dealer adjust throttle tension linkage.

5. Rinse after each use with clean water and wipe dry to help

insure years of trouble-free use.

6. Use extra caution when operating the handle the first few

times in order to get the feel. Avoid excessive speed.

7. Length can be adjusted by depressing button and aligning

with proper hole for desired length.
Caution: Do not try adjusting length while underway.

The Handi-Mate with “Swivel Lock” may be used as a straight
steering unit or as a swivel unit while trolling.

To steer with the swivel:
Stop the boat. Press the stainless steel button to change from
locked position to swivel. Then simply push or pull on the
Handi-Mate extension handle while trolling.

To change from swivel to lock position:
Stop the boat. Press the stainless steel button located 2 inch-
es (5 cm) from the clamping body, then push the tube into the
body until it latches in the open hole.

Steering with the swivel engaged should be limited to
trolling speeds. Do not operate at high speed without first
