JELD-WEN Windows using the Midwest Brickmould Accessory - Manual

Windows with the Midwest Brickmould Accessory require #8 x 2 1/2" corrosion resistant,
pan or washer head screws through the accessory because it is mounted over the nailing
fin. This supplement is intended to be used with the Installation Instructions for Vinyl
Windows with Integral Nailing Fin (JII001). Follow all of the instructions in that document
and replace the steps with this supplement as directed below.
1. Follow the installation instructions through section 1 “REMOVE PACKAGING AND INSPECT
WINDOW.” Then, remove the existing window from the structure. Complete the steps in
sections 2 - 4 for preparing the opening as they apply to the specific situation.
The accessory is show in blue,
with the fastener channel light
blue. The fastener channel’s actual
position will vary depending on the
width of accessory chosen.
2. Remove the fastener channel
covers. One end will be loose
and they can be pulled out
and away from the accessory.
3. Use the fastener spacing given
in the installation instructions
(Section 5, “INSTALL
WINDOW”) and mark
fastener locations along the
indentation in the accessory
fastener channel.
4. At each fastener location,
drill a pilot hole through the
accessory and nailing fin.
5. Follow the steps in the
installation instructions in
Section 5, “INSTALL WINDOW”
fastening though the pilot holes
in the accessory.
6. Snap the covers into place over
the fastener channels.
7. Skip Section 6 “FLASH
WINDOW.”
8. Complete the steps in the
installation instructions.
9. Run a bead of sealant between
the accessory and the final
exterior wall (siding, trim,
stucco etc.).

Las ventanas que tienen el accesorio Midwest Brickmould necesitan tornillos alomados o de arandela
del N.o 8 de 2 1/2", resistentes a la corrosión, a lo largo del todo el accesorio, ya que está montado
en la aleta clavada. Este suplemento se preparó para usarse con las Instrucciones de instalación para
las ventanas de vinilo con aleta clavada integral (JII001P). Siga todas las instrucciones del documento
Instrucciones de instalación y sustituya con este suplemento los pasos que se indican en seguida.
1. Siga las indicaciones de Instrucciones de instalación hasta terminar la sección 1, “RETIRE EL
MATERIAL DE EMPAQUE E INSPECCIONE LA VENTANA”. Después retire de la estructura la ventana
existente. Para preparar la abertura siga los pasos de las secciones 2 a 4 en la medida en que sean
pertinentes al caso específico.
El accesorio se muestra en azul
oscuro; el canal del sujetador se ve en
azul claro. La posición real del canal
del sujetador varía según el ancho del
accesorio que se escoge.
2. Quite las cubiertas del canal del
sujetador. Uno de sus extremos
está suelto y se pueden jalar para
sacarlas del accesorio.
3. Use el tamaño de espacio que
se da en las Instrucciones de
instalación (sección 5, “INSTALE
LA VENTANA”) para marcar la
ubicación de los sujetadores a lo
largo de la hendidura en el canal
del sujetador del accesorio.
4. En cada ubicación de los
sujetadores taladre un orificio
guía a través del accesorio y la
aleta clavada.
5. Siga los pasos de las Instrucciones
de instalación (sección 5, “INSTALE
LA VENTANA”) para fijar el
accesorio usando los orificios guía.
6. Abroche las cubiertas
presionándolas en su lugar sobre
los canales del sujetador.
7. Sáltese la sección 6, “APLIQUE
RECUBRIMIENTO PROTECTOR A
LA VENTANA”.
8. Termine los pasos que vienen en
las Instrucciones de instalación.
9. Ponga una línea continua de
sellador entre el accesorio y la
pared exterior final (revestimiento,
moldura, yeso, etc.).
