Interconnect options
To connect to SAN using optical cables, you must install either an RJ-45 Patch Panel 2 or a SAN-
compatible interconnect option kit in the server blade enclosure.
For information on installing interconnect option kits, refer to the kit documentation:
• For information on installing patch panels, refer to the RJ-45 Patch Panel 2 Installation Instructions.
• For information on installing interconnect devices, refer to the quick setup instructions for the device
on the HP website ( http://www.hp.com/go/bladesystem/interconnects ).
HP Smart Array Battery-Backed Write Cache Enabler
option
The optional BBWC enabler provides the system with a means for storing and saving data in the event of
an unexpected system shutdown.
To install the component:
1. Power down the server blade (on page 15 ).
2. Remove the server blade (on page 16 ).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 16 ).
4. Install the BBWC enabler.
