Chapter 4 Using Advanced Setup
After selecting a connection type, click Next to continue configuring the connection.
Transparent Bridging
Select this option to use the Gateway as a transparent bridge. This option should
only be used if the Gateway is being used as a Modem to connect
ONE computer
to the Internet via a DSL connection. When the Gateway is being used as a trans-
parent bridge, it does not provide any firewall security.
Obtain an IP Address through PPPoE or PPPoA
Select one of these options to allow the Gateway to use the Point-to-Point over
Ethernet (
PPPoE ) or Point-to-Point over ATM ( PPPoA ) protocol.
