NSTALLATION
The OA-740 is shipped with all the user modules installed in the chassis.
However, optional modules may be shipped in a separate package from the main
system.
If you wish to install the components on your own, you need to understand the
proper installation procedure and the safety guidelines involved in performing the
same.
If you notice any deviations in the contents received as against the order, contact
Alcatel-Lucent Technical Support immediately.

You need the following items to install the OA-740:
•
ESD-preventive wrist strap
•
Antistatic mat
•
No. 2 Phillips screwdriver
•
1/4-in. flat-blade screwdriver
•
Tape measure (optional)
•
Level (optional)
•
A total of 12 M5 x 10-mm Phillips flathead screws to secure the brackets to the
chassis
•
A total of 16 slotted 10-32 x 3/8 screws for rack installation

HECKLIST
To achieve a successful hardware installation, use the following checklist as a
guideline before commencing with the installation.
Step 1: Unpack the system.
Open the carton the right way up, and carefully remove contents in the package.
Carefully remove the chassis from the carton.
Note:
Do not discard the shipping container. You will need the container if you move or ship
the OA-740 in future.
Step 2: Verify the contents of the package.
Verify that the contents are included in the shipping container (the accessories
box might be separate):
•
One OA-740, fully assembled
•
One or more accessories boxes (some or all may be shipped separately)
