Gently put the paper into paper tray #1.

Gently adjust the paper side guides to fit the
paper with both hands. Make sure that the
paper side guides touch the sides of the paper.

Check that the paper is flat in the tray and
below the maximum paper mark a.

Slowly push the paper tray completely into the
machine.
NOTE
• When you use Ledger, Legal, Folio or A3 size
paper, press and hold the universal guide
release button a as you slide out the front of
the paper tray.
• When you load a different paper size in a tray,
you will need to change the paper size setting
in the machine at the same time. For more
information, see Paper Size and Type in
chapter 2 of the Basic User’s Guide.
