1.0 DESCRIPTION
The Detcon Model 971-071170-00L is a 117VAC powered gas detection system that provides a remote gas
sample to an independent sensor assembly. The sensor assembly, discussed in the attached sensor manual,
is specified at time of order as to gas and range of detection and other options. The NEMA 7X rating is by
definition explosion proof and therefore is suitable for outdoor location in electrically hazardous environ-
ments.
The enclosure houses a 24 VDC power supply, flow pump and flow fault detection circuit. A mother-
board provides lugless field wiring terminals which, depending on the type of sensor used, include options
for: 117 VAC power input, 24 VDC battery backup power input, 4-20 mA signal output, alarm relay dry
contacts, and RS-485 Serial communications. Internal panel mount fuses are provided for VAC and VDC
power.
A power switch, power indicator lamp and a flow fault indicator lamp are mounted on the hinged door.
Externally mounted flow controls include a selector valve for sample and calibration and a flow meter with
adjustable valve. An externally mounted moisure filter is provided for the gas sample input.
1.1 INSTALLATION
1. Securely mount the enclosure in accordance with the drawing below.
