for technical troubleshooting assistance before you proceed.

pulled.

Poor fume extraction.

Frequent occurrence of contact tip burn-

1. Drive roll has become galled.

2. Wire has become kinked along its feed

path.

1. Fume powder deposits are blocking off

gun passages at the fume collection
nozzle or fume tube.

2. Excessive air currents.

3. Gun has excessive air leaks.

4. Trigger and accessory switch leads

are blocking fume air flow.

Fume extraction equipment is
switched off.

6. Fume extraction equipment is non-

functional.

7.

Fume extraction equipment has
blocked filters.

8. Lincoln Miniflex extractor is set to low

speed.

9. Vacuum hose is partially or completely

flattened or blocked.

10. Vacuum hose is punctured or torn.

1. Improper welding parameters or tech-

nique (example: ESO is too short).

2. Wire may be feeding intermittently.

1. Remove and then clean or replace

drive roll. (See Maintenance Section)

2. Manually pull wire slowly thru gun until

unkinked wire emerges.

1. Remove the powdered deposits.

2. Block off air drafts.

3. Check for loose hose clamps or

detached hoses.

Reroute leads (See Maintenance
Section).

5. Switch on or plug in extraction equip-

ment.

instructions.

8. Set to high speed.

9. Attempt to straighten out hose or

remove blockage; otherwise replace
hose.
