1. Enter the configure command to access global configuration mode.
Virtual ADX# configure terminal
2. Use the following command to reserve a core for the management process.
Virtual ADX(config)# system reserve-management-cpu
Backward and forward compatibility
Brocade Virtual ADX Version 03.1.00 can recognize and support the previously purchased licenses
installed for the earlier release of Brocade Virtual ADX (e.g. Version 03.0.00).
Brocade Virtual ADX Version 03.0.00 will not recognize the new licenses introduced in Brocade Virtual
ADX Version 03.1.00 i.e. the 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps licenses. In addition, the minimum memory
requirement, in Version 03.1.00, for any license of 1 G or more is 3 GB of RAM.

For maximum performance, the VADX-LIC-5G license requires a minimum of 6 GB of memory, and
the VADX-LIC-10G license requires a minimum of 12 GB of memory.
