• Results of not using correct personal protective equipment:
—Increased risk of entanglement
—Increased risk of permanent vision damage
• Ear protection is not required. A properly functioning lathe makes less than 70db noise
in normal use. Use ear protection if the surrounding environment has noise levels that
are greater than 70db.
EMERGENCY SITUATIONS:
• Fire — Use only a non-water fire extinguisher. Risk of shock may occur if a water-based
extinguisher is used.
• Flooding — Remove power immediately and after lathe is removed from water, clean
and lubricate all metal surfaces to prevent rusting.
