10. Replace the gear end bearing assembly over the drum so that the
output sun gear shaft meshes with the gears in the drum and the
input shaft sticking out of the drum comes up through it.
11. Replace the tie bar bolts and tighten to 6-7 ft-lbs. torque.
12. Place the ring gear, ring gear gasket (item #4), and gear housing
cover gasket (item #3) as needed.
13. Place the new intermediate gear carrier assembly (item #1) over
the output sun gear and mesh with the ring gear and the output
sun gear.
14. Replace the intermediate sun gear, spacer, input carrier assem-
bly, input sun gear, and thrust washers in the same order they
came off. Apply a dab of grease to inside bore of end bearing
cover and insert thrust disc into bore.
15. Replace the end bearing cover on the end bearing assembly and
secure with six capscrews. Tighten capscrews to 12-15 ft-lbs.
torque.
16. Re-install the winch into the mounting channel, connect the sole-
noid wires to the vehicle battery, and re-install the cable on the
drum. For specific information on installing the winch, electrical
connections, and cable installation, refer to the winch owner’s
manual.
