With the Sun Gear installed, the assembly should look like
the figure at right.
11. Re-install Carrier Assembly to Motor End Ring Gear. Twist the
Carrier Assembly until the three gears fit into the Input Sun
Gear underneath. When this happens, the Carrier Assembly
will slide down into the Ring Gear.
12. Re-install Thrust Washer to Ring Gear. There should be a little
clearance between the Thrust Washer and the top of the gear
in the Ring Gear.
If there is no clearance, the Brake Housing may not have
been driven to the bottom of the Ring Gear. Remove the
Thrust Washer and Carrier Assembly and gently drive the
Brake Housing further down, as in step 7.
13. Re-install Cable Deflector and End Bearing, making sure
winch mounting nuts and washers are in proper posi-
tion.
14. Replace End Bearing Retaining bolts. Tighten to 45-50 in-lbs.
torque.
15. Re-install Motor End Gear Assembly to drum.
16. Replace winch tie bolts. Tighten to 45-50 in-lbs. torque.
