Master, Slave Mode Device Testing
Timing Master Device
A Timing Master device is responsible for supplying a MOST network with MOST frames and
therefore can be operated without the use of any external generator. It is capable of generating the
signals required for compliance testing.
Timing Slave Device
In a MOST network a Timing Slave device synchronizes itself to MOST frames generated by the Timing
Master device and regenerates the frames at the same network rate. For compliance testing an external
signal generator is used to provide the necessary frames by simulating an ideal Timing Master device.
