Note: The use of jack stands to perform this installation is not
recommended.
2.
Support the transmission case with a jack ahead of the

3.
When the transmission is fully supported, remove the two
15mm transmission mount nuts, and four 15mm hex head bolts
that fasten the cross member to the body.
4.
Remove the heat shield from above the driveshaft.
Section 2 - Assembly
1.
Place the loop up and over the driveshaft and move it away
from the work area.
2.
Install the driveshaft safety loop support plate onto the trans-
mission mount studs facing rearward with the gusseted
bracket down.
3.
Replace the transmission cross member with the spacer
bars installed between the body and the cross member.
Reinstall all of the fasteners and nuts.
4.
Mark the location of the bolt holes for the gusseted bracket
to the cross member, and drill the holes to a minimum of 3/8”

may have to be removed after the hole position has been locat-

nuts. Torque all the fasteners referenced up to and including
step 5 of section II.
6.
