6.1.1 Checking the rotation direction
The drive shaft direction of rotation is shown by
the rotation direction arrow (Fig. 2/O) on the mo-
tor fl ange.
a) Start the motor briefl y (max. two seconds) to
check the direction of rotation. When looking at
the motor fan, it must rotate clockwise.
NOTICE
Incorrect direction of rotation
Operating in the wrong direction of rotation leads
to damage to the machine.
Use a phase sequence indicator to check the direc-
tion of rotation (anti-clockwise rotating fi eld).
b) After correcting the direction of rotation if nec-
essary, start the motor again and stop it again
after 2 minutes in order to top missing oil up to
the upper edge of the sight glass (Fig. 2/I). If the
fi lling point (Fig. 2/H
1
) is not accessible, this top
up must be repeated at the fi lling point (Fig. 2/H)
until the oil cooler has been completely fi lled.
The fi lling point must not be open when the
pump is running.
6.1.2 Setting the operating range (V-VC 400 - V-VC 900)
