Prepping The Block
• Disconnect the battery
• Remove the existing alternator, air conditioning compressor and associated brackets
• Remove pulleys and water pump
• Remove all traces of gasket and sealer with a gasket scraper and Scotch Brite® pad.
• Clean the water pump mounting threads with a 3/8-16 thread chaser.
